Las Vegas is a very popular place to hold conventions. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the Las Vegas Convention Center officially opened on April 29, 1959. The center provided a 20, 340 square foot rotunda, with over a 90,000 square foot exhibit hall, and 18 meeting rooms.

During the LVCVA’s first year, they hosted eight conventions attended by over 22,000 delegates. In the year 2007, there were over 23,000 conventions hosted by Las Vegas, and meetings were attended by over 6.2 million delegates. Because of this, there have been additional jobs for the Southern Nevada citizens.

In fact, as many as 5 million people visited Las Vegas just to attend all the conventions and trade shows, thereby generating as much as $6 billion in total non gaming revenue. This makes Las Vegas host to a large percentage of Tradeshow Week’s top 200 conventions and famous for renting more space for conventions than any other city in the US.

Currently, Las Vegas offers roughly 8 million sq. ft. of convention space, some of the most popular being the Las Vegas Convention Center and Mandalay Bay’s 1.5 million sq. ft. center. Las Vegas is sure to be a good choice if you want to hold your convention and attract many members and have excellent amenities and atmosphere.

Las Vegas Conventions range from having the 25th Rocky Horror Show Anniversary Convention to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Convention to the Tortilla Industry Association Annual Meeting and Exhibition.
